E) Johan Lehrer says that “Until science sees the brain from a more holistic perspective-and such a perspective might require the artistic imagination-our scientific theories will be detached from the way we see ourselves.”A) Art will allow us to see the entire picture for a more definite understanding. The understanding of science will go beyond its interpretation because art will allows to imagine so many more ideas.
Barclay: Art can help influence human feelings and show the understanding of science that science can’t do alone. Yo Yo Ma and Jonah Lehrer essays both identify the importance of art in two different settings. In Yo Yo Ma’s essay he focuses on the importance of going for STEM to STEAM in education and that “we need to add the empathetic reasoning to the arts to the mix — STEAM”, that sciences in education just aren’t enough and art can build connections to unexpected things. In Jonah Lehrer essays he argues that “science needs art”, that art will help guide new perspectives that are the key scientific progress. Art in everyday life can help mend the bridge of human understanding that the sciences just can’t do.
