Learning Outcome 1

Comparing my first and final draft of my Narrative essay has shown me a lot about my development as a writer. The changes in my first draft to my final draft demonstrates my ability to engage global revision because I rearranged my paragraphs to allow my essay to flow better. I also changed my idea of what I wanted my essay to be so that I could add more evidence to strengthen my argument, almost basically changing my whole thesis. One thing that showed for doing global revision was the “clarity” I got from doing it as Learning Outcome 1 said that I should demonstrate.  Looking at both will clearly show that. In terms of local revision I changed my sentences that had evidence supporting a quote so that it was clear. There were also sentences that I would get words or adds words to make it sound better. I also would change words and spelling mistakes as went from the help of grammarly. My ability for global revision came after the help of my peers through peer review, as well as local revision. It helps to have more eyes on your paper to see errors that you may have not seen before. Looking at both my first and final draft I can see my development because my first draft seems to always be all my thoughts down on paper without much organization, where after proofreading I made sure that I had my claim sentences and conclusion sentences to bring my paper all together. Through all the peer review and revision strategies we did in class, allowed me to strengthen my essay and to see my growth as a writer through all my first and final drafts.
