Peer review was on of my favorite things to do in class. At first I was very nervous for my peers to read my essay because I never thought it was good. By the end of it I loved to hear what my peers would say about my paper. Most of all, I loved to read their papers, reading their papers gave me a sense of what I should incorporate into my paper or reading things that I did in my paper that by reading theirs made me realize maybe it wasn’t the best choice. Peer review has helped my development as a writer because it allowed me to see what good writing looks like and how my peers understood the essays that we read. In my chosen marked peer review I commented that she “connected to her argument really well” and it helped me to remind myself to make sure that all my evidence and ideas connected to my paper. Even when I thought they were my peers helped me in their comments that they wrote on my paper reminding me to connect it back to my argument. Being able and having the opportunity to critique others work is in away helping yourself to critique or own paper. Peer review is a great revision and it really helps with the global revision. By the end of it, it was easier to understand how it worked and to be more specific in what questions to ask about your paper.
